Raleigh, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University women's tennis team blanked Saint Augustine's College 9-0 in divisional play on Wednesday afternoon at the Lions Park tennis courts. The Golden Bulls improve to 3-9 overall and 2-1 in the CIAA.

Jae Hargett (Minneapolis, MN) paired together for an 8-0 victory over Kira Edgehill and Martinne Deronette in No. 1 doubles. Freshman

Rolanda Sue (Charlotte, NC) only allowed one match point against Brittany Shim and Martinna Deronette in the number two doubles spot (8-1 win). Sophomore
Camille Allen (Teaneck, NJ) and junior
Tyra Breaux (Baltimore, MD) produced an 8-0 shutout in No. 3 doubles competition.
Barnes out performed Shim (6-1, 6-1) in No. 1 singles and Hargett controlled the pace with a (6-0, 6-0) victory against Edgehill at the number two singles position. Sue struggled slightly against Martinne Deronette, but ultimately won both sets (6-4, 6-1) at the No. 3 singles spot.
Jones, Allen, and Breaux all dominated their competition at the number four, five, and six singles positions, respectively.
The Golden Bulls will face another Western divisional foe in Fayetteville State University on Tuesday, March 16th in Charlotte, NC. Match play is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm at the Coleman/Cuthbertson Tennis Courts.
