Charlotte, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University women's tennis team improve in the CIAA Western Division with a 9-0 victory against St. Augustine's College on Wednesday afternoon at the Coleman-Cuthbertson Tennis Courts. JCSU moves to 11-10 overall, 9-2 in the CIAA, and 5-1 in the division.

Jae Hargett (Minneapolis, MN) were successful 8-4 over Kira Edgehill and Brittany Shim in No. 1 doubles play. Sophomore

Margaret Jones (Newport News, VA) topped Martinne and Martinna Deronette 8-1 at the second doubles position. Sophomore
Camille Allen (Teaneck, NJ) and junior
Tyra Breaux (Baltimore, MD) did not allow a single match point (8-0) to their opponents in No. 3 doubles.
Barnes took down Shim (6-2, 6-2) in the first singles flight. Only one point was scored by the Falcons out of two sets at the second, third, fourth, and fifth singles spot. Breaux is the exception, blanking Ciara Holmes (6-0, 6-0) in the No. 6 singles position.
JCSU earns a season sweep over St. Augustine's and starts a winning streak with back to back victories over Livingstone and SAC.
J.C. Smith continues divisional match play on Tuesday, March 30th against Fayetteville State University. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 pm in Fayetteville, NC on the campus of FSU. Johnson C. Smith defeated Fayetteville State earlier this season (9-0) on the Coleman-Cuthbertson Tennis Courts.
