Hampton, VA – The Johnson C. Smith University men's indoor track and field team scored 54 points to claim 4th place in the 2011 CIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Boo Williams Sportsplex. St. Augustine's College won first with 155 points, claiming the CIAA Indoor Championship for the 13th consecutive year.

Andre Collins (Kingston, Jamaica) was named CIAA Champion in the 60 meter hurdle with a personal best time of 7.89. Collins is ranked No. 2 in Division II for the event. Senior
Leford Green (St. Catherine, Jamaica) won the CIAA crown in the 400m, clocking in at 47.48. Green is No. 1 in Division II for the 400 meter.
Randale Watson threw the shot put 15.21m to win the CIAA title for the event. Freshman
Gabriel Franklin (Casselberry, FL) placed third in the 60 meter with a time of 6.89 (1/100th second outside the NCAA provisional qualifying time).
Led by men's field MVP Orlando Duffus and men's track MVP Josh Edmonds, the Falcons scored 155 points to run away with the win. Winston-Salem State was second with 80 points and Bowie State was third with 68 points.

(800 Run). The Winston-Salem State team of Cornell Jones, Elijah Strickland, Andrew Chebii and Wiggan won the distance medley relay.
J.C. Smith will now compete in the Clemson University Tiger Tune Up meet on Saturday February 19th. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. inside the Clemson Indoor Track Complex.
