Golden Bulls dominate Shaw

Fayetteville, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University bowling team showcased their skills at the second CIAA Southern Divisional Round-up of the season at B&B Bowling Lanes this weekend.  The Golden Bulls finished with a 3-12 record for the three-day tournament, which placed them fifth in a field of six teams.

In match play, JCSU finished 2-8, defeating Shaw University twice on days one and two.  In Baker format, the Golden Bulls were 1-4 with yet another victory over the Bears (521-514).

The hosting Fayetteville State Lady Broncos concluded the contest in first with a perfect 15-0 record. Saint Augustine's finished second (11-4), followed by Winston-Salem State in third (10-5), Livingstone in fourth (6-9), and Shaw was sixth (0-15).

Senior Nicole Baker (Durham, NC) finished 17th overall with a 151.8 average.  Sophomore Brittney Rowe was not far behind with a 147.75 average (21st). Baker also recorded the two highest games for JCSU, with a 187 and 174. Her 210 game was tied for sixth highest in the tournament.

JCSU will return to action on the weekend of February 10th-12th as they host the CIAA Round-Up. Teams from both divisions will square off at the AMF Centennial Lanes in Charlotte, NC located at 4501 South Boulevard.
