Yusuf Barnes is the lone JCSU selection to the 2013 All-CIAA Men's Tennis Team
Petersburg, VA - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association in conjunction with the CIAA Tennis Coaches Association has made its selections for the 2013 CIAA Men's Tennis All-CIAA Team, Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year. Johnson C. Smith University freshman
Yusuf Barnes (Leander, TX) has earned a spot on the men's All-CIAA Team.
Barnes competed the majority of the season at the number two singles position. He finished 3-6 in CIAA play in singles competition and 3-5 in CIAA doubles competition. Barnes partnered with fellow freshman
Kia Brewington (Siler City, NC) at the number two doubles position for an overall 3-13 record.
Barnes is the first Golden Bull All-CIAA selection since
Robert Butts and Jamil Jones in 2011.
Corey Bonnette (Winston-Salem State) was selected as the Rookie of the Year and Charles Silva (Shaw) claimed the top honor as the Player of the Year.
