The JCSU football team will be holding a tryout on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. on the football field at the Irwin Belk Complex (IBC)
Charlotte, NC - The Johnson C. Smith University football team will be holding a tryout on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. on the football field at the Irwin Belk Complex (IBC).
The tryout will allow potential student-athletes an opportunity to join one of the most progressive football programs in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
Those interested in trying out should bring their own cleats, shorts, and other apparel according to the weather conditions. High school playing experience is preferred, but not required.
Students must be registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center and once registered a 10-digit identification number will be issued, which is needed prior to try-outs. To access the NCAA Eligibility Center, click here:

Students should also visit the JCSU Health Services and retrieve a copy of your physical. Upon receiving the information, please visit the football office and fill out a waiver liability for the athletic training staff.
Other requirements:
*Student must possess a 2.0 GPA or better
*First-year students (freshman), must have completed at least 12 credit hours
