JCSU GOLF TOPS PAINE COLLEGE IN HEAD TO HEAD DUEL

Tune-up for PGA Minority Championships

Charlotte, NC - The Johnson C. Smith University golf team finished first in a head to head match against Paine College on Monday, May 5th at Larkhaven Golf Course. JCSU shot a one day total of 329 on the Par 72, 6717-yard course. Paine trailed the Golden Bulls by 11 strokes to conclude the contest in second.

Junior Brencis Stanford (Greenwood, SC) was the low medalist. He carded a low round of 74 in Monday's play. For JCSU, junior Johanan Edmeade (Virgin Island, U.S.) had the second lowest round with a score 80.

Junior Calvin Mason (Suffolk, VA) and sophomore Steven Graddick (Charlotte, NC) placed fifth and eighth, respectively on the leaderboard. Mason had a score of 84, followed by Graddick shooting 91. Freshman Lewis McKeliver (Bluffton, SC) rounded out the team scoring with a 116.

The Golden Bulls will now travel to Port St. Lucie, FL for the 2014 PGA National Minority Collegiate Championship. Competition will take place from May 9-11 at the PGA Golf Village.
