GolfJohnson C. Smith Finishes Fourth at CIAA Western Division Golf Tournament

The Johnson C. Smith men's golf team shot a final round of 372 (723) and finished fourth as the CIAA Western Division Tournament concluded Wednesday at Charles T. Myers Golf Course in Charlotte, N.C. The Golden Bulls finished with a tournament scorecard of 351-372--723. Fayetteville State University won the won the tournament hosted by Johnson C. Smith University. Senior Enobong Udo was the top finisher for the Golden Bulls. Udo had the best final round for the JCSU, shooting a 4-over-par 76 to finish in fifth place. Andre Kelley and Herbert Collins, III were next for the Golden Bulls ending the day in 21st and 23rd place. Fayetteville State's Chip Lynn took the individual crown after finishing the tournament at 9-under-par 144. In second, with a score of 138, was Virginia State's Jerel Whiting. Fayetteville State's Ian Milne and Jeremy Ringled finished third and fourth respectively with a score of 140 and 143. Johnson C. Smith's Enobong Udo (145) rounded out the top five. The top five finishers were named to the All-Tournament Team. The Golden Bulls will travel next to Winston-Salem for the WSSU Invitational at the Winston-Lake Golf Course March 16-18. |
