JCSU vs. Virginia State Complete Game Notes All-Time...This week’s game is the 40th meeting between Johnson C. Smith University and Virginia State University. The Last Meeting…The Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University hosted the Trojans on October 20, 2007 and lost by a score of 35-17. Johnson C. Smith recorded their best offensive outing of the 2007 season (441 yards) but the efforts were not good enough to secure a much needed victory. The Golden Bulls (2-6, 1-4 CIAA) fell to the visiting Trojans of Virginia State University (4-4, 3-2 CIAA), 35-17. Junior quarterback Carlton Richardson had his best outing of his career connecting on 23 of 36 passes for 324 yards and two touchdowns. He crossed the 1,000 passing yard milestone increasing his yardage to 1,318 on the season.
MEAC No-No…JCSU and VSU opened their seasons against MEAC opponents. Neither team found the win column versus their Division I opponents. VSU lost to Norfolk State 47-7 and JCSU lost to NC A&T 44-12.
More Division I Games for Other CIAA Schools...The CIAA will have two more teams playing Division I competition. Fayetteville State University will take on Presbyterian College while Livingstone College will travel to Georgia to take on Savannah State University.

Rebuilding the O-Line...Coach McNeill, who also serves as the offensive coordinator, has decided to rework the offensive line. Stephen Seard moves from RT to LT, Rashuan Curry moves from LT to C, freshman Geno Barnett will get his first start as a Golden Bull at LG, Michael Burroughs will shift to RG and junior transfer Tyreece Williams will play the RT position.
